Hello friends!
I started this newsletter to share what I am up to. Without the shop, I want to stay connected and I want to keep sharing about gardening, home building, community building and putting good in the world. I need a way to verbally send love and light. Thanks for signing up for this. I will probably never stop saying that I am glad you’re here.
First, my big news in my writing work is that I have an article in the soon-to-be-published “Savor” issue of Taproot Magazine! It’s the story of Retro Den. I tried for months to put into words how the end of our shop felt, writing draft after draft. Crying a bit. Then finally, a version felt like a complete story. I think anyone who loves me, loved our shop, loves small business, experienced loss (especially work transition) during the pandemic or who has had to reinvent themselves will relate. I’m honored I get to share it in this beautiful publication that I love to read.
If you want to read the story, it is only available by purchasing it off the Taproot website. It’s a really lovely magazine with inspiring photos and stories. Lot’s of crafts and nature. And it is an independently owned, woman owned publication, which is super cool and important to support. Let me know if you order it! I hope the team at Taproot gets a huge influx of subscriptions and orders from Oklahoma! ;-)
I used to carry SO much furniture!
I loved having Harriet at the shop. Those were special days, for sure!
What a treat to share a building and creative space with so many amazing women/friends.
*The last two weeks I’ve been busy giving Harriet all my attention before school started back up. I’m hoping to share some photos of our garden soon. I hope you’re having a great day!
(Was the audio weird? Good? Tell me what you thought!)
